Some ideas that are explored in this course:
Images become evocative when they point to some rich and meaningful experience.
Cave paintings often point to the experience of some difficult/dangerous/exciting hunting experience.
A photograph of a loved one, points to a person you love - it is just a pointer and not the person you love.
When setting out to create images, askyourself, what does it point to? Does it point to something that you cherish/believe in strongly?
If you create images that do not point to something significant, you merely add to visual noise.
Content and craft are equally important; to express content you need the vehicle of the craft.
There are different crafts for creating images. It is good to focus on one.
Images should stand on their own feet.
Illustrations should not need words; Photographs should not need captions; Video and animation should communicate visually.
