DE212 Ceramic Glazes and the Development of Colour

Course Objectives
To understand the basics of glaze chemistry.
To develop low-tempertaure (1050 C) glazes for terracotta.
To develop glazes for stoneware (1220 C).


Sessions
Session 1: 11 Jan'25 Testing Glazes for Terracotta. Testing Glazes for Stoneware. Line Blends. Test Kiln Firing
Session 2: 18 Jan'25 Test Analysis. Glaze Application: Pouring, Dipping, Brushing, Spraying.
Session 3: 25 Jan'25 Electric Kiln Firing (Oxidation). Gas Kiln Firing (Reduction).
Session 4: 22 Feb'25 Creative Project.
